Bible verses for grief and loss

Three Berean Standard Bible Version verses to read, save or send to someone who needs them.

“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 BSB
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 BSB
“‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 BSB

Lumi's take

Grief isn't a lack of faith. Jesus wept at His friend's tomb. If your heart is broken right now, Scripture says God is close, not far away and not disappointed. It's okay to cry, and it's okay to ask for help. Talk to someone you trust: a parent, a pastor or priest, or a counselor.

Pray it

God, You're close to the brokenhearted. Be close to me now, and comfort everyone who is grieving. Amen.
